Literature Text

I look in the mirror once again
Faceless shadows in my image append,
I don't know what to do, but I know what it means
As I watch the deep red shadows mend.

What monster I've become, an ugly me,
The red reflections shape into a tree
What has happened in the past is building up now,
So I ask God to help me set free.

"I will climb this tree, red as fire,
I wil climb this tree, higher and higher
On this tree, maybe I will see why
I am like the way, is it desire?

"For 7 long years I will stay here,
Walking on the branches in fear
What I only ask of you, just one thing;
If one breaks, and I fall, will you hear?"

"My dear son, do you not understand?
You will always have my guiding hand.
Even in the heights of your past
I will be there, with you I'll stand."

I close my eyes, I look away,
The image still haunts me to this day,
Let this be a lesson for you all,
If you give him your hand, he will lead the way.
Another poem, written on December 6th 2011.
At this time, due to a quarrel-inflicted depression, I was being hateful towards people, and it took a while to see my own reflection, after losing a friend so dear to my heart.

Here is the original Prologue.
Prologue:
I know I've been hateful towards different races and religions. And it took losing a good friend to open my eyes. When I was looking in the mirror before, I wasn't looking at my own reflection, I was looking at my heart's instead. Upon realizing this, it inspired this poem.

This was one of the only poem (so far) that had religion referenced within it. It symbolized the need of guidance I needed at the time; calling for help. It was not my intention to provoke or promote Christianity to infidels with this poem, merely just to express my need or guide others who may be in need.
